Here is a general overview of what to expect during your first visit:
- Arrival and paperwork: When you arrive at our office, you will be greeted by a friendly staff member who will check you in and have you fill out some paperwork. This paperwork will include your contact information, medical and dental history, and dental insurance information.
- Meet the hygienist: Once you have completed your paperwork, you will be taken to the back of the office to meet your hygienist. The hygienist will introduce themselves and discuss your dental history with you. They will then perform a comprehensive oral exam, which includes checking your teeth, gums, tongue, and lips for any signs of cavities, gum disease, or other problems. The hygienist may also take X-rays of your teeth to get a better look at your overall oral health.
- Cleaning and polishing: After the oral exam, the hygienist will clean and polish your teeth. This involves removing any plaque and tartar buildup from your teeth and gums. The hygienist may also floss your teeth and apply fluoride to help prevent cavities.
- Meet the dentist: After your cleaning and polishing, you will meet with the dentist. The dentist will review the hygienist’s findings and discuss any recommendations they have for your oral health. The dentist may also answer any questions you have about your dental care.
